It’s 2010. Be inspired.

Happy New Year!

Hope you were safe… and drank your water before bed!

This weekend, I wanted to share with you inspiring and interesting video to get you through your first weekend of 2010.

… which brings me to a TOTAL side note, I’m trying to come up with a sweet name for the new year because now people can say things like “I graduated in oh-eight” because  “I graduated in ten.” just doesn’t have the same ring- or even meaning- to me (sounds like it took them ten YEARS).

To conquer this dilemma, I have come up with two suggestions:

a) “oh ten”
b) “oh one oh”

Personally, I like the second one better. ESPECIALLY after my little brother told me it reminds him of binary! “oh one oh” in binary means two… Perfect! (Plus, doesnt “Class of Oh One Oh” sound better than “Class of Ten”?)

Okay… Well… onto the video I promised you.

But seriously, I’d love to hear your opinions of the whole awkward “ten” dilemma on our hands (and basically every year from here on out). Any suggestions?

Blue Moon… No, not the song or the drink.

I love Blue Moon.

but this post is not about the beer.

In honor of New Years, I would like to educate you a little bit:
Tonight, as you celebrate the end of oh nine, look up for a minute. You will see a Blue Moon!

“A BLUE MOON!?” You may say… well, not really the color blue (and as I already stated, not the beer either), but a full moon- the second one of the month, in fact (which is super rare and called a blue moon).

An article from the Associated Press explains:

A full moon occurs every 29.5 days, and most years have 12. On average, an extra full moon in a month — a blue moon — occurs every 2.5 years. The last time there was a lunar double take was in May 2007. New Year’s Eve blue moons are rarer, occurring every 19 years. The last time was in 1990; the next one won’t come again until 2028.

Read the full article and educate yourself! It will make a great conversation starter and… who knows! There are probably all sorts of Blue Moon (the beer) specials tonight!

Be Safe and Enjoy your New Year’s Celebrations!

See you Monday, January 4th at 9:15 sharp!
