Expand your horizons.

Hope you guys had a great weekend! And hopefully your Monday won’t be too Mundane…

You may have noticed that I have yet to really mention the earthquake disaster in Haiti… this is not because it isn’t a serious issue that needs our prayers and resources (because it DEFINITELY is), it’s because I would like to keep Maundering Me as a sort of “get away,” or distraction, from our everyday life and troubles.

If only people would want to help and give to a cause on a daily basis as much as they have recently due to the Haiti earthquake. Today, I would like to introduce you to a website that can connect you to a project where you can make a real difference and experience change and hope right in front of your eyes. It’s called

GVI, Global Vision International, is a company that connects compassionate people with a project that will suit their needs, talents, and goals to improve the world. Global Vision International (GVI) runs responsible volunteering programs in over 40 countries around the world. We offer volunteers the chance for a hands-on experience by personally contributing to important conservation initiatives and community projects. Volunteer programs run from one week to 2 years.”

GVI offers tons of ways to get involved depending on your individual situation: internships, short trips, long trips, family trips, vacation, tours, and even job opportunities! The costs of the trips vary depending on the activities, length of time & etc. but, from what I’ve seen on the site, they tend to range from about $1,000 to about $6,000. I know… not a cheap trip but TOTALLY worth it! Think about the priceless experiences you would have! Definitely a vacation to remember.

Personally, I would LOVE to do a short trip or a volunteer vacation! Not sure what I would want to be involved in… probably either wildlife or marine conservation! How AWESOME!

Do some soul searching, check out the website, and get involved! People and wildlife need our help!

Have you ever done something like this? Are you interested in doing something like this?
